Jared Michel Thomas is a native of Southern Indiana. He followed in his family’s tradition and attended the University of Kentucky and graduated in 2008 with degrees in Sociology and Spanish, with honors. After graduating from UK, he attended law school at Valparaiso University School of Law and graduated with a Juris Doctorate Degree in 2011. He currently serves as the Vice President of the Evansville Redevelopment Authority and is an active member of the Hadi Shrine. He has been recognized twice by Evansville Living magazine in 2019 and 2020 for his legal service to the community.
As an experienced trial attorney, Jared knows what it takes to represent his clients throughout a multitude of practice areas. He was admitted to the bar of the State of Indiana in 2011, the US District Court for the Southern District of Indiana in 2012, and the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals in 2013. He has received multiple published appellate decisions from the Indiana Court of Appeals, Indiana Supreme Court, and the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals. He currently serves as a federal public defender under the Criminal Justice Act before the United States District Court for the Southern District of Indiana. He is a member of the National Criminal Defense Lawyers, Indiana Federal Community Defenders, and the Indiana Bar Association.
